2022 Scholarship Winner
Ali BabingtonWe are delighted to announce that the 2022 Winner of the Dawn Fleming Student Scholarship is Ali Babington.
2022 was a very competitive year in the Dawn Fleming Student Scholarship applications, but Ali managed to win the judges over with her outstanding achievements and commitment to horticulture, as well as her vision for the future!
Ali has previously studied in Tasmania and Victoria and now finds herself completing her PhD in Western Australia. She has found that through horticulture she has made meaningful connections with people in the industry, but also with her community.
Ali is working towards a future where urban horticulture is a the forefront of urban planning and wants to share her knowledge and skills with the next generation.
When we asked Ali what the win meant to her, she said:
“I was very excited to hear the news of winning the Dawn Fleming scholarship for 2022. It means so much to have my passions for horticulture recognised and appreciated by such a wonderful group of women in the industry. It’s amazing to be so well supported in my endeavours and I’ll use these funds to keep advocating for more horticulture in our lives. I hope I can also provide support for other women interested in horticulture and encourage them on their journey too. ”
